Know more about Japanese Tea Gyokuro
Gyokuro is a premium Japanese green tea that is highly regarded for its sweet and mellow flavor, delicate aroma, and vibrant green color. It is one of the most prized and expensive types of Japanese tea and is often referred to as the "jade dew" or "jade dewdrop" tea.

The unique character of Gyokuro is due to the way it is cultivated and processed. The tea leaves are shaded for several weeks before harvesting, which reduces their exposure to sunlight and increases the levels of amino acids and chlorophyll in the leaves. This process gives the tea its characteristic umami flavor and rich green color.

Gyokuro is typically brewed at a lower temperature than other types of green tea, around 50-60°C (122-140°F), for about 2-3 minutes. This slow brewing process extracts the complex flavors and aromas of the tea, creating a smooth and satisfying cup.

In Japan, Gyokuro is often served during formal tea ceremonies, and it is considered a luxurious and refined beverage. It is also enjoyed as a daily treat by many tea enthusiasts around the world.

Overall, Gyokuro is a unique and exquisite tea that offers a rich and complex flavor profile and a beautiful visual experience. It is a testament to the skill and dedication of Japanese tea producers, who have perfected the art of cultivating and processing this exceptional tea.

Gyokuro tea is mainly grown in the Uji region of Kyoto, which is known for producing some of the finest Japanese teas. The tea plants are grown in shaded areas, typically for around 20 days before harvest, which forces the tea leaves to produce more chlorophyll and amino acids, resulting in a sweeter, smoother taste and an unmistakable umami flavor.

To create Gyokuro, the leaves are handpicked and processed with great care. The leaves are steamed, rolled, and then dried, a process that preserves their natural flavor and nutrients.

The flavor profile of Gyokuro can vary depending on the exact cultivation and processing methods used, but it typically has a rich, buttery taste, with notes of seaweed, spinach, and umami. It has a subtle sweetness and a refreshing aftertaste that lingers on the tongue.

One of the most unique aspects of Gyokuro is its appearance. When brewed correctly, the tea has a bright green color and a clarity that is often compared to the clarity of jade. The color of the tea can be a good indicator of its quality, as higher-quality Gyokuro will have a more vibrant green color.

Gyokuro is a tea that is best enjoyed on its own, without any added flavors or sweeteners, so that its unique flavor profile can be fully appreciated. It is also a tea that is traditionally served in small cups, so that the aroma and flavor can be savored in small sips.

Overall, Gyokuro is a tea that is highly prized by tea enthusiasts around the world, and its unique flavor, aroma, and appearance make it one of the most sought-after types of Japanese tea.

My favourite

The taste is balanced And not too bitter

Thank you so much for sharing your taste review. :)

Balanced of sweetness and bitterness

This one is the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness for me. I am not fan of bitterness of tea but this combination of sweetness and little bitt of bitterness makes me feel energetic. I smell and taste the freshness with every sip in the morning. it contains 20 grams I feel the quantity is not too much. So now I wanna try their other matcha to compare.

Hello, Amber.
Thanks for leaving a thoughtful review about our matcha.

My Favorite Matcha

I have used this Koiai matcha for 3 years now since my Japanese friend recommend. I love it! It is the best I have tasted. It's fresh and nutty as well. I used to drink coffee every morning but now I make my own Matcha lattes at home. It is very dense because it is high quality ceremonial matcha so make sure you sift matcha for creamy and foaming.

Thank you for loving KOIAI Matcha. We will share this great review with our farmers. Thank you again.

Lacking customer service

I reached out twice to Osada Tea regarding my tea order, once before I bought the tea and once after regarding the discount that I did not apply and the first time a question about radiation. I never heard from anybody on either of my questions. Also the tea that I ordered tastes really bad and I don’t know why but I just can’t drink it so I was a bit of a waste of money for me and I will not be re-ordering
